All of the wedding cakes I make are bespoke, so prices will vary depending on the size of the cake and the complexity of the design.
With so many variables affecting the price I think starting prices can therefore be a bit misleading, so the pricing guide below shows you the average prices you would expect to pay for one of my cakes.
The more elaborate the design, the more you can expect to pay.
Having a mixture of dummy and real tiers will reduce the price slightly.
£600 - £1000
£175 - £325
£250 - £550
£500 - £750
£800 - £1200

Can I have a buttercream filled cake?
Unfortunately, we have a hate-hate relationship with buttercream and as such we do not use it in our cakes. We use ganache which will either be white or dark chocolate and can be flavoured with essences.
Do you cater for special diets and allergies?
Yes! At the moment we offer VEGAN optional.
How do I store and handle my cake after it is cut?
Cakes should be stored at room temperature, but away from direct sunlight, radiators or other sources of heat. All of our cakes we give a free CAKE CARE GUIDE to help you store your cake correctly.
Can I make changes to my order?
Yes changes can be made depending on what is required and timeframe given, but it is untimately down to our bakers discretion.
Can I collect my order?
Yes, but only for occasion cakes which are 2 tiers or below. My cakes are always carefully boxed and can be collected from my home in Hampshire. I would always recommend collecting your cake in a vehicle as tiered cakes can be very heavy. A signature is needed for cake collections, confirming that you have received your order in good condition and as specified. Please be aware that once the cake has left my premises, I cannot be held responsible for any damage which may occur to the cake whilst in your care. Cakes which are three tiers or more will need to be constructed by myself at your venue on the day of your event.
What style of cake do you specialise in?
At Hartt Cakes we value unique, one-of-a-kind designs tailored to you and your event.
Do you hire out cake stands?
I currently have a small selection of cake stands which can be hired out. A £20 hire fee plus a minimum £50 security deposit is required in advance per cake stand. It is the customers responsibility to return the cake stand/s to my address within 4 working days. If the cake stand is returned to me after 4 working days, a late return fee of £10 per day per cake stand will be applied. The security deposit will not be refunded in the event the stand/s is/are damaged.
Can I have flowers on my cake?
Absolutley! I can supply fresh flowers for your cake. I will contact your florist to put in an order for the cake, that way they match your event perfectly.
What is the difference between dessert and coffee sized servings?
Do you use fake tiers in your cakes?
We can add foam tiers and glass tiers for larger statement cakes.
Can you provide wedding favours?
Sure! Our cookies make the perfect treat! They can be bagged or boxed with or without ribbon. Please email me email@example.com
Can the decorations on my cake be eaten?
I will provide a list of non edible items on your cake at time of delivery/collection. All non-edible items must be removed before serving and I accept no responsibility for any harm these items may cause.
What is your returns policy?
Due to cakes being bespoke, they are non refundable. However, if damage does occur at the irrefutable fault of my business, a partial or full refund may be given. This will be determined on an individual basis. Proof must be provided within 24 hours either in person or by way of pictorial evidence. Once the cake has been cut and served, this will signify your acceptance that the cake was fit for purpose and no compensation will be given.
Why are wedding and celebration cakes so expensive?
It’s easy to think that a cake is just flour, eggs, sugar and butter, and therefore should be cheaper, but when you buy a bespoke handcrafted cake you are paying for much more than just the ingredients. Custom made cakes are works of art and can take days, or even weeks to complete. Even the simplest of cakes take 10 to 15 hours to create, with much more elaborate designs taking 35+ hours. If you have a budget in mind then please let me know as this skips a lot of the “Wow, that’s expensive” or the “I can’t afford that”. I can then work with you to design a cake to fit your particular budget.
I have a question that was not answered here. What is the best was to contact you?
